Westnofa is one of the great success stories of the Norwegian furniture industry.

Norwegian furniture gained international recognition from the brilliant guidance of export company Westnofa. The name was derived from the combination of 'WEST NOrway FActories' and was formed in the late 1950's by a collaboration of the countries leading furniture manufacturers. The goal was to combine forces to market and export locally produced furniture internationally.

In the 1960s and 70s, Westnofa pioneered a series of innovative furniture collections featuring elegantly curved laminated timber. These designs were not only contemporary and lightweight but also optimized for flat packing, making them cost-efficient to ship globally. This combination of practicality and design brilliance earned Norwegian furniture a prominent place on the world stage.

The Siesta Chair by Ingmar Relling is undoubtedly Westnofa’s most iconic creation. Renowned for its curvaceous silhouette and elegant form, it became a global favorite. Complementing its success, designers like Arnt Lande contributed a variety of celebrated designs, solidifying Norway's reputation as a hub for cutting-edge, contemporary furniture design.
