Original Vintage Danish teak writing bureau / secretaire
Original Vintage Danish Burmese teak writing bureau / secretaire
Original Vintage Mid-century Danish Burmese teak writing bureau / secretaire, Denmark circa 1960's
This timeless Danish secretaire has three lower graduating drawers each with two curling handles, top drawer with lock, but no key, and three small organising drawers in the upper portion accompanied by an open shelf situated to the right. Below this, there is a retractable writing surface that slides out, doubling as a desk, all supported by four elegantly tapering cylindrical legs.
Renowned for its versatility, this secretary stands as one of the most adaptable pieces in the annals of Scandinavian design. Its capacity to serve as a chest of drawers makes it a superb filing cabinet or storage unit, and it can seamlessly transition into a linen wardrobe in a bedroom setting. The pull-out top transforms it into a functional desk, while its timeless design imparts character to any interior fortunate enough to house it.
Crafted in Denmark during the 1960s, this bureau exhibits a beautiful teak grain, complemented by a rich, warm colour throughout.
