Minimalist Mid-Century Modern teak lounge chair
Rare Minimalist Mid-Century Modern teak lounge chair. Most likely Danish design and make.
Exquisite design and workmanship, very reminiscent of Danish modernist design of that era. No makers mark or stamp, and we were unable to trace the provenance of this beautiful chair. A real statement piece.
Featuring a frame made of solid teak, providing beautiful curved ‘blade’ armrests. Sturdily build and highly presentable from each angle.
The design is slightly similar to that by Ib Kofod-Larsen for Selig, Denmark during the 1960s.
”If at first glance it may seem simplicity itself, its simplicity conceals a great ingeniousness of design. To start with, by immense skill, the designer has eliminated every unnecessary piece, yet produced a chair that is rock-solid in construction…This is not furniture that you will live with for a few years and then tire of”
Condition Details: The teak frame is in great condition with minor patina. Structurally very sound and ready for decades more of use! Please see images for any imperfections worth mentioning. It is in very good vintage condition, the frame has been meticulously cleaned and oiled, new cushions have been made-up with high-quality Hertex Fabric, featuring a Martindale rub count of 50 000 and is easy to clean (with water only).
