  • This minimalist, solid kiaat sideboard from Artecasa, circa 1960, showcases exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design. The rectangular top sits above a pair of cabinet doors on the left, featuring beautiful brass hardware, enclosing a detachable shelf. On the right, three graduating drawers offer ample storage, with the top two drawers featuring three-division green felt-lined interiors for cutlery.  The sideboard is accented with incised handles and rests on four rounded rectangular legs. 

     

    It bears the maker's stamp, "Artecasa Pty Ltd," attesting to its authenticity and quality.

     

    The Artecasa factory, founded by the Italian Maraschino brothers in Johannesburg, was renowned for producing some of the finest local cabinetry during the Mid-Century period.

     

    Dimensions: 80 x 200 x 55cm

    Condition: The condition is very good considering the age, it has been gently refurbished and refinished.
