  • The Iconic Model 631 "Roundette" Teak Dining Suite designed by Hans Olsen in 1952 for Danish furniture maker Frem Røjle, the Model 631 "Roundette" Teak Dining Suite is a masterpiece of ingenuity. This design features three-legged, curved chairs that fit seamlessly within the table’s apron, creating a continuous band of beautifully grained wood.

     

    The "Roundette" dining suite is a cherished Danish classic, beloved for its petite dimensions and exceptional design, the ‘Roundette’ is perfect where space is at a premium. The seamless integration of form and function defines one of Denmark's most unique and desirable dining suites. The four unique three-legged chairs integrate perfectly with the table's apron, forming a fluid and unified design object. Crafted from Burmese teak, the suite showcases a beautiful grain pattern throughout.

     

    This version of the iconic dining table includes an integrated butterfly leaf extension, allowing it to accommodate up to six diners. The table legs can be easily screwed on or off for convenient moving and storage.

     

    Hans Olsen's iconic "Dinette" set for Frem Røjle is possibly the most unique and well-designed dining set to come out of Denmark. Its space-saving and well-executed design has gained tremendous popularity worldwide, making it a perfect addition to any modern dining environment.

    The table and each chair is branded “Frem Røjle, Made in Denmark” and has the Danish Furniture Control sticker.

    Condition:

    The suite is remarkably well-preserved considering its age, exhibiting only subtle signs of wear — please refer to the photos for a closer look. The condition is good with a few light marks but nothing untoward.

    It is in lovely original period condition – we have simply cleaned and polished the piece.

     

     

    The chairs and table are branded with maker's name.

     

     

     

    Hans Olsen , born in Denmark in 1919, began his career as a cabinetmaker before pursuing his education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art. There, he studied under the renowned Kaare Klint at the Academy's Furniture School, developing a keen interest in ergonomics and the study of human body measurements.

    In 1953, Olsen established his own studio, where he designed and produced a series of exciting pieces in a distinctive style. His work was prominently featured at the annual fairs of the Cabinetmakers Guild in Copenhagen, gaining him recognition and acclaim.

     

    Hans Olsen (1919 - 1992) is celebrated as one of Denmark's master furniture designers. His unique approach is renowned for its experimentation with form, texture, and diverse materials, making his creations both timeless and avant-garde.

     

     

     

    Like many Mid-Century pieces, it harmoniously combines sturdy solid wood with a top-grade wood veneer.

     

    We try to capture the condition of our items in our photographs as best as possible. Prior to dispatch all items are carefully cleaned and re-coated with danish oil to ensure your item is looking its best when delivered.

     

    Restoration Process:

    In our studio workshop, every item undergoes a meticulous inspection and careful restoration process. We prioritize maintaining the original charm and patina of the piece, while also making it a beautiful addition to modern interiors.

     

    Our Approach Includes:

    • Examining and reinforcing the joints
    • Cleaning the wood and removing any stains
    • Conducting veneer repairs as necessary
    • Polishing or refinishing surfaces to enhance their appearance
