Hay J77 Chair designed by Folke Pålsson
Hay J77 chair designed by Folke Pålsson, 1940s in stone grey,
water-based lacquered beech. Folke Pålsson’s Windsor-inspired J77 dining chair has a wide seat and curved spindle back for optimal comfort, while the slightly conical legs create extra stability. HAY’s relaunched version is crafted in solid beech with a natural finish or a variety of coloured finishes.
Condition: Good original condition, the grey lacquer has a few minor scratches and chips on the edges, but it doesn’t detract from the piece at all, we decided to leave it as original as possible. It has been cleaned and polished. Please see photos for detail.
W43 x H79 x D43cm. Seat height: 44,5cm
J77 dining chair has been designed by Folke Pålsson and is made from beech wood. J77 dining chair is part of Hay's 2011 relaunch of the Danish furniture classics originally made for FDB, the Danish Consumers’ Co-operative Society. FDB’s furniture production started in the 1940s and their main idea was functionalist and democratic design for the people. Thanks to industrial production, FDB was able to manufacture high quality design furniture for ordinary people at relatively low prices.
