Mid-Century Record/Vinyl/LP/Music system cabinet or drinks cabinet in solid imbuia with steel ladderax frame legs and height-adjustable feet, designed and manufactured by EE Meyer for Binnehuis in South Africa.
Plenty of storage inside, with a flip-top and two drop-down cabinets.
Very good overall original condition. Signs of wear commensurate with age. It has been meticulously cleaned and refinished, the drop-down doors have been lightly sanded and sealed.

Beautifully designed and made, a real collector’s piece and investment. Owning an EE Meyer piece is owning a piece of history, South Africa's most sought-after mid-century furniture manufacturer. Meyer was the South African master of understated mid-century elegance, with elegant and clean designs.
The Binnehuis furniture stores were located in Cape Town and Somerset-West, and were owned by a Dutch businessman and his wife, Mr and Mrs van Ewijck, who moved between South Africa and the Netherlands.
Imbuia is not listed in the CITES Appendices, but is classified as “Vulnerable” on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
